The last bit especially, but like "the new bowls are better because you are happier with them"

I have very few strong opinions on anything, and it took a while for my wife to understand the difference between me giving a preference independent of hers vs including hers

The best example I can think of is olives. She loves olives, and I have absolutely no strong feelings about olives. So independent of her I would eat any olives that came with my dish, but when we're eating together I'll pick out the olives and give them to her because I get more joy secondhand when she has them than I would first-hand if I did
