Hah they love that paste stuff too much. Funny thing, my cats learned not to bite or use their claws. You can try some unsalted tuna water and a drop of cranberry juice to help with the stones if that's an issue. My cat responds to commands ironically, like if I snap my fingers or say come here, he will follow or jump on wherever I point to. He's a mostly Norwegian Forest cat though. He watches the door when I sleep or feel sick as well. It's a shame he got neutered, I don't let my cats outside unless they're on my shoulder either.
