it is so very cold this morning so this was the perfect breakfast to warm us back up. this just has some wakame dried seaweed, green onion, cabbage, shiitake mushroom seasoning, soy sauce, dark soy sauce, a little bit of vegan margarine, and msg. then just boiled some rice noodles and fried some tofu to have with it.

Is msg an actual traditional ingredient? I thought I had no tradition in hand made Asian food before pot noodles came out

afaik it's definitely used now in home cooking (i see it used in chinese and vietnamese cuisines where i learned to make these types of soups so idk about other cuisines) but i'm sure it can depend on the household or person cooking it. it really does make the soup extra tasty though ๐Ÿ˜‹
