From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).

Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

It's not really though. This just describes installing Termux and some X11 gubbins to make it emulate a linux machine, but it's still running some parasite-ridden Android OS. It would be much more interesting to get it running bare metal Linux with all the creepy "smart TV" baggage removed.

Thanks for pointing that out. I was actually looking for someone who managed to jailbreak these things and install a custom OS. Figure you cant at this point.

Made my own smart TV with KDE Neon Bigscreen in a Lenovo tiny. Gonna test run it when I replace the wifi.
