Privacy has become a very important issue in modern society, with companies and governments constantly abusing their power, more and more people are waking up to the importance of digital privacy.
In this community everyone is welcome to post links and discuss topics related to privacy.
Some Rules
- Posting a link to a website containing tracking isn't great, if contents of the website are behind a paywall maybe copy them into the post
- Don't promote proprietary software
- Try to keep things on topic
- If you have a question, please try searching for previous discussions, maybe it has already been answered
- Reposts are fine, but should have at least a couple of weeks in between so that the post can reach a new audience

I do wonder if it is that as a society at least in these generations.. We lost cause we never did a really good effort into teaching media literacy to everyone, many arguments i hear i think it boils down to lack of media literacy.
We made the effort to make almost everyone be able to read but the effort to find miss direction, biases and manipulation not so much
I think that's a major point.
Critical thinking is demoralized.
I mean I showed court dockets about Tent Peg Rump to people supporting him---still. And it's been interesting to see the stubbornness to still show support. It's like you got rearended over the last year and like the dog meme in the fire, this is fine. Some people just don't want to admit defeat. At least some people are waking up. Also the other thing is, you can't show your opinion often. It's like we've reached China's level of censorship without even knowing.
The problem is not that is stubbornness, (maybe on high level it is) but is more like questioning became something of an insult rather than of dialogue. I get it we all want to believe we know what we know so challenging that is an insult
And the thing is that finding truth is really hard compared to making shit up, and it just continues to grow apart with AI powered stuff. It is something i worry a lot for the future and really don’t think i have a proper idea on how it can be solved
Yeah that's part of it. I've seen too many smart and successful people making up excuses. I don't even know why anymore. Look at your wallet or your books. Winning? Winning what? At least I managed to convince some people to look at the bigger picture.
