This has been in my wallpaper & random image collection for a while. Unfortunately I forgot the name but I remember that they are tiny in real size, just a millimeter or so. Maybe somebody recognizes them?

Kind of amazing that something of this size and complexity is still a single celled organism.
yeah, these slime moulds really push the envelope. hope youtube links aren't against the rules here, the slime mould in this one do some really crazy stuff: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vlANF-v9lb0
they will sometimes clump together and move around very much like a slug
