My friend from Finland (of all places) went there and said it was overrated

[–] StillAlive@piefed.world 19 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Maybe he lacks taste buds, biologically?

Honestly I'd believe that for all of Scandinavia, but it also might be that the salt liquorice burns them off at a young age.

People go to italy or france, eat at some shitty place, says it's overrated.

Or maybe they aren't used to non processed food?

[–] lauha@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Well yes, but you can go to any country and eat in a great restaurant and have great food. That's not the point either.

I'd say 90% of places I went were remarkably meh. But that 10% was on point.

Well I've never been to Finland, maybe their food is vastly superior. And to be fair it doesn't take much to be better than the USA. So maybe your friend is right

Finland is the land where only spices are salt and pepper.

[–] mrmisses@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago

Well I'm not judging until I eat it with a side of ice cube salad
