Has there been any instances of these retro handheld companies (which are typically from China) shipping with malware on them just waiting to be connected to your local network?

Yeah I'm aware of all that. The VSee box and some other one were the most well known. My brother actually has a VSee box and refuses to get rid of it... I will put it on my guest network to be safe, like you said, doesn't mean it doesn't happen. Was just curious if anything like this had actually been documented.
