Work Reform

A place to discuss positive changes that can make work more equitable, and to vent about current practices. We are NOT against work; we just want the fruits of our labor to be recognized better.
Our Philosophies:
- All workers must be paid a living wage for their labor.
- Income inequality is the main cause of lower living standards.
- Workers must join together and fight back for what is rightfully theirs.
- We must not be divided and conquered. Workers gain the most when they focus on unifying issues.
Our Goals
- Higher wages for underpaid workers.
- Better worker representation, including but not limited to unions.
- Better and fewer working hours.
- Stimulating a massive wave of worker organizing in the United States and beyond.
- Organizing and supporting political causes and campaigns that put workers first.

Are you joking? Getting quality contractors (or doing it yourself) is quite a bit of work and often quite expensive. It's exponentially worse if other people are tearing your shit up because they don't care about other people's stuff.
You shouldn't take this as 'don't buy your own home', but I can't fathom where you thought properly maintaining a home isn't difficult or expensive. Go lookup prices on how expensive installing a new roof, AC, kitchen cabinets, or flooring is. And those are only some big-ticket items.
Just bought my 30 year old home last year. Have made quite a few upgrades so far because it was necessary but as far as "general" maintenance goes it's been pretty negligible. Of course replacing a roof is a shit ton of money but when you only need a new one every 30 years that $20,000 bill can be spread across 360 months for a total of $55 a month. You just need to be knowledgable enough to know what the maintenance costs and account for it ahead of time not last minute after you have already been greedy and spent all the money you collected the past 30 years.
