I find a huge variation in daily recommended protein intake when I search online and it is quite frustrating. I am going to the gym regularly and trying to build muscle so this has recently become important to me as I don't want to accidentally have a protein deficiency. Currently I use a protein powder and eat a lot of beans and lentils. I usually get 60g at least and I get the full spectrum of amino acids from other parts of my diet. I just do not believe I need double this as is currently recommended by the US government.

Anyone have studies on this? Recommendations for bodybuilding while vegan?

If you eat a calorie surplus of nuts, whole grains, and legumes, you will gain muscle easily as long as you lift heavy and sleep well.

There's no need to count protein intake or overcomplicate it. You just have to be consistent.

Nuts just have so much fat and I have zero self control regarding how much of them I eat. I fucking love nuts but I can't have large quantities of them in the house.

Also they are expensive

Yea nuts are a bit expensive. Even 20g a day is enough to get health benefits.

I binge eat them too. For example I eat 300-700g a day of nuts like walnuts over 3-4 days. And then don't buy them again for a month or two.

Not a very disciplined way of eating but I do feel healthier and stronger than not having nuts in my diet.
