Whatever one's opinion on the legality - he wasnt killed over a parking spot. He was killed because he was threatening bodily harm to another person. This incident may had been triggered by a parking space, but after really has nothing to do with either cars or parking spaces. It shouldn't even be a post in this community.

But at the same time, he likely wouldn't have been killed in a less car centric society. The number of altercations that start over driving and parking is crazy

This dude wanted to be angry. He would have found an excuse.

He did, but some situations inflame or defuse more than others. Nothing here was guaranteed.

Guys like this will find something to rage at others about. There will always be some limiting resource that becomes a source of conflict.

In a non-car society, it could have been the last of a product on the shelf, or the last spot on the bike rack.

Except I think that cars actually make people of different physicalities more equal.

Let's be real - he got pissed because someone smaller and weaker than him bested him over some territory he wanted. In a non-car situation, he would have just stollen what he wanted or pushed her out of the way.

In this case, the car and gun both acted as equalizers, allowing her to protect herself and her kids despite the greater physicality of others around her.

Death penalty for theft and threats! No need for a trial.
