Being from the northeast, I am not a supporter of our more southern states' obsession with "Stand your Ground" laws. That said, I am impressed that they actually applied this fairly, given the shooter was a black woman and the target was an older white male!
Even Massachusetts has a version of SYG, but it’s limited to your home and the Castle Doctrine. Self defense is a human right and a single punch can kill a person. I have no problem with a person shooting someone who is making active threats against them and approaching them in a threatening manner. Good shoot. Happy the innocent woman gets to go home and violent thug can’t victimize anymore people because of his fragile ego.

I feel like I've won every single argument so far with basic facts. So far, 99% of this community that I argued with has not taken a basic gun safety class so I have the knowledge to combat the stand your ground hate. This should be an anti-car community, not an anti-gun community!
