highway patrol cops use Coke to clean blood off the highway, because it's so acidic, apparently works well - this may be its best use
The acid, mainly phosphoric is used to help solubilize all the sugar. There's also carbonic acid due to the CO2 in it.
Since when do cops clean anything?
When there's a bloody wreck on the highway, they will often use a 2-liter of Coke to remove excess blood from the road. It's common enough that the 2-liters are standard trunk equipment.
