There's an outdoor public pool in the park near my home, and in the 'kids section' there is one of these. Very popular this time of year.
My city's public pools close at the beginning of August for some stupid-ass reason.
August used to be the start of fall and wasn't normally still hot as fuck.
I guess it depends on your locale, but august has always been summer. (Northern hemisphere of course). The equinox isn't until the end of September.
