This is a small release that took a huge amount of work.
For those who don't know the v1 release of Lemmy has been in beta for a while now. The v1 release of Lemmy ships with Lemmy API v4 with backwards compatibility with Lemmy API v3.
Lemmy API is the shared language of how clients (Summit) and server talk to one another. Lemmy releases are loosely tied to API versions. So for instance, Lemmy v0.19 (which is the version most servers use) only supports Lemmy API v3. Currently Summit only supports v3 of the Lemmy API. This release adds support for API v4.
This is mostly a future proofing measure since Lemmy v1 will still support API v3. Since Lemmy v1 isn't released yet it's likely there are still bugs in the API v4 support implementation as there were many massive changes. Due to this API v4 is disabled by default. Once Lemmy v1 releases and I can verify the app is stable with API v4 it will be turned on by default.
So basically this update doesn't actually add anything, yet.

- Fix a bug where force refreshing search results will omit page 1's results and only show results from page 2 and beyond.
Actually, I think I found the conflict!
In settings>Misc, you have a "single tap to close" toggle (which is great and I personally prefer). I had that enabled and a double tap was non responsive. If I then change that option back to default state, I can then double tap successfully to zoom, but obviously the single tap to close option no longer functions...
So I assume something about allowing for recognition of both single and double tap gestures distinctly, in that state?
I looked into the issue and I now remember what happened.
The default image viewer has single tap to toggle the UI visibility and double tap for zoom.
When single tap to exit is enabled, the toggle UI visibility gets assigned to double tap instead which disables double tap for zoom. This was a decision made on purpose to re-home the toggle UI visibility gesture as that feature is deemed more important.
Ultimately at your discretion of course, my assumption would be that directly interacting with the image though (to zoom in this case, especially for things like infographics and long comics with small text, which are seen often in feeds) is the much more frequent use case compared to toggling tool UI on/off? Feel like I've taken the functionality for granted in many other apps I've tried (maybe lemmy version of "sync" as an example?).
Have you considered tool UI toggle maybe assigned to a long press on screen or an upward swipe perhaps? Understand you are balancing with many needs though, so again, no expectation on my part.
