Yall are so fucked in November. Like… Nazi Germany fucked. Enjoy!

[–] marcos@lemmy.world 21 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I dunno. It looks like they will test their democratic power transfer in November. So either they are very fucked (and the rest of the world too), or they'll just unfuck themselves a bit. We will only really know when it happens.

Prepare for a red wave.

I really hope that every civilian who actually cares about this country will be on their feet during the midterms, making sure voters don't get spooked away by far right militas and protecting peoples right to vote. This is actually the time and place to make use of your second amendment - protect those polling stations with your lives, or your lives might be forfeit anyways if Trump starts the 1000-Year-Reich Pt. 2.

Please don’t bring a gun to your polling precinct.

[–] Wildmimic@anarchist.nexus 7 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Not directly to the polling station, but people should expect MAGAS to arrive armed and with the intention of keeping "undesireables" away,

[–] Telodzrum@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago

Fair enough, always be prepared, right?

[–] Malica@lemmy.zip 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I'm bringing one in my car though

[–] Telodzrum@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

Seems fine. Check your state’s laws for distance rules from polling places, though.

Too bad all the other governments are so beholden to our government that we'll drag everyone else down with us.

[–] Ilovethebomb@sh.itjust.works 6 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I don't think the USA has the pull they used to, other countries are increasingly viewing them as an unreliable ally. Both in terms of trade and defence.

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 day ago

Other governments are still too deferential to the US for my taste. Hopefully that changes.

[–] kibblebits@quokk.au 6 points 2 days ago (1 children)

To an extent, but I really don’t think the US has the “forever grip” it thinks it has. No country ever has lasted forever.

[–] irish_link@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago

Nor will it. I think this is the part where we lose our grip. On reality as well.

The good ole bunker + ballroom combo in the Reich Chancellery...

Let's hope the Trump administration goes for a '45 revival in the fuhrerbunker
