It's definitely a thing. They have the right to refuse to do your blood work if you're not using an NHS gender clinic, but since the waiting list on those are at, what, 30 years or something now? A lot of UK trans people go private or DYI, and a lot more doctors are using that right

It's not all doctors obviously, I don't even know if it's a majority. But it's a lot, and it's getting worse especially for young trans people.

I've seen quite a lot of British trans people complain that their GP has suddenly stopped shared care with their GIC too, and are now struggling to find one that's willing to help them.
