With not a lot of searching I can find lots of information that the US did 'steal oil' from Syria according to current/previous US government officials. The time did not take long to find, and you could find this out too. The "to Israel" I couldn't find in my quick search.

The Syrian civil war is a complex one, but the US did "take" oil from the country. US President Donald Trump openly acknowledged this in 2020, stating: “I left troops to take the oil. I took the oil. The only troops I have in Syria are taking the oil.”

There was also news at the time that talked about this being illegal in AP new

But protecting the oil from Syria government forces or other entities may be harder to defend.

“The U.S. is not at war with either Syria or Turkey, making the use of the AUMF a stretch,” said Stephen Vladeck, a national security law professor at the University of Texas at Austin.

He added that while the U.S. Constitution bestows significant war powers on the president, those are generally meant to be about self-defense and for the collective defense of the country. Arguing that securing the oil is necessary for national security “just strikes me as a bridge too far,” he said.

The Delta Crescent company, which was licensed by the US to do this in Syria, which was established by people one a former US ambassador to Denmark [said this] (https://www.washingtoninstitute.org/policy-analysis/inside-story-how-trump-kept-oil-syria-and-lost) by Washington Institute, a "pro-Israel, US think tank":

There was then, and continues to be, a robust trade in non-sanctioned oil across Syria’s borders, but the people of the region have not been getting a fair market price for their oil, because it has not been ‘legal,’” Cain said.

So "stolen oil by the US" is true if we hear from US government and Ex-US government people about the US involvement.

Specifically "to Israel" I cannot find, but I would look next at the company earnings from Delta Crescent or try to find information on the convoys of oil that left to Iraq or the pipelines from Turkey to see if they might have been sold on the public market or to Israel specifically.

So I take it the US is also "stealing" cocaine from Colombia because the Us is the biggest market for it, eh?

The MPLA sold oil to Us oil corporations during the Angolan civil war too... will you also be accusing that independence movement of "stealing" oil from the Portuguese?

US President Donald Trump openly acknowledged this in 2020

This guy? That's whose mouth-diarrhea you want me to take seriously?

I shared evidence from US sources, and from members of the US government that called it illegal, including someone from the oil company and a quote from the head of state from 6 years ago. I am sorry if this is not enough for you and you need to draw wildly different comparisons.

I am sorry ~~if this is not enough~~ my bullshit bootlicker take didn't convince you.

FTFY.

How objective of you, feel free to provide your own easily discoverable information that shows the US did indeed not extract oil from Syria. Not sure what is bootlicking about this.

Your supposed "objectivity" isn't worth shit.

Appealing to the legal machinations engineered by the colonialist liberal status quo itself in an attempt to smear revolutionary movements as complicit in colonialist exploitation isn't "objective" - it's campist bootlicking and nothing else.

I am confused. Are you supporting of the US here? I do not understand the intricacies of the situation and it is difficult to get past the name calling.

I am confused.

See? Honesty doesn't require a wall of text, does it now?

Are you supporting of the US here?

No, Clyde. A revolutionary movement doing what it needs to do to survive doesn't qualify as "stealing" - that's it.

The same reductive reasoning and criticism you give to the tankie is what you use here: the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

[–] therealdries@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 3 days ago

the enemy of my enemy is my ~~friend~~ frenemy.

How's that? Less reductive (according to you)?
