General community for news/discussion in the UK.

Less serious posts should go in !casualuk@feddit.uk or !andfinally@feddit.uk
More serious politics should go in !uk_politics@feddit.uk.

Try not to spam the same link to multiple feddit.uk communities.
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.

Posts should be related to UK-centric news, and should be either a link to a reputable source, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread.

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

Ex-Breitbart editor has vocally supported immediate deportations for anyone who can’t prove US residency.

Well, he got exactly what he was asking for.

That said, I'm not happy to have him back here.

He eventually became locked into a feud with fellow far-right commentator Laura Loomer, a Trump administration ally who claimed on Friday that she had reported Yiannopoulos to ICE over his immigration status.

He fell out of favor in conservative circles after the publication of a video in which he condoned sexual relations with boys as young as 13.

But the conservatives love doing that! I guess he said the quiet part out loud.

Born as Milo Hanrahan, Yiannopoulos was born and raised in Chatham, Kent, England. His father has Greek and Irish ancestry and his mother is German born. He is described as a practising Roman Catholic. His parents divorced when he was a child. Yiannopoulos' mother is Jewish. Yiannopoulos has referred to himself as Jewish; according to the BBC, his maternal grandmother was Jewish. Raised by his mother and her second husband, Yiannopoulos has stated that he did not have a good relationship with his stepfather. As a teenager, Yiannopoulos lived with his paternal grandmother whose surname, Yiannopoulos, he later adopted.

How does a Greek-Irish-German Jewish Britain grow up to such a hateful cunt? He's been seriously failed by life.

It doesn't sound like he had a particularly stable upbringing so he probably has a lot of undirected anger towards life in general. Not only were his parents separated, but he didn't spend any time with either of them, you've got to wonder why that was.
