I think you have cause and effect back to front there.

We've been getting warnings about planned Russian action against the EU for months, the CIA head honcho flew into Moscow a couple of days ago, last time he did that was just before Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022.

Whether you believe the warnings are propaganda or not, this is clearly action intended to dissuade Russia from doing something

Lmao, you trust the American government, which is run by literal pedophile war criminal rapists?

LOLwut ? Where did I say that ?

  1. It's not the kiddy fiddler's minions that are saying Russia is planning something, it's been Finland, Sweden, Norway, Estonia, Poland etc...pretty much half of NATO has made press-releases referencing various intelligence reports over the last 6 months that they're expecting something. (links below)

  2. Belarus is in the middle of doing pretty much exactly the same thing it did before the Ukrainian invasion - setting up a staging area with a rail line siding for unloading a 60 car train, right over near the border https://united24media.com/war-in-ukraine/belarus-builds-rail-linked-military-training-ground-near-ukraine-for-mass-equipment-deployment-21964

  3. Even a stopped clock can be right once a day, but we don't know whether Ratcliffe went to Moscow to discourage Putin, or to give him the go-ahead that the US will stay out - both options are possible

Look at the instance, that guy is a tankie. Or Russian agent. Or a troll, i guess, but there isn't much difference.

For sure, lemmy.ml is full of tankies and Russian apologists, but call me quixotic but I'm not inclined to let their arse- backwards logic stand unchallenged.

It would be a lack of trust as Trump said Russia wasn't going to invade.

But I don't see why Russia would enlarge their front at this stage unless they had backup.

I personally doubt it will be a formal invasion, it would be far more in character for niggling provocations to try and goad NATO into striking first so they can claim injured innocence and deniability of having caused it.
