I really like it. I like the stealth mechanic, and the Shahrazad style game within a game. It's fun to be scrounging around, finding a +3 weapon, and feeling like you're suddenly doing ok. Much like the main game, except it's a little bite-sized game.

Perhaps in the future, consider making it a mini game you can start from the title screen! I'm imagining players could pick their level (maybe up to some reasonable maximum appropriate for the quest), then try to beat the vault, choosing their talents when they enter. It could be a fun challenge to see how low of a level you can start at and still win. It would be extra hard, though, because no items would be ID'ed yet. I'm curious what others think of the idea.

I was able to complete the quest today with a Huntress. Not sure I like the new quest at all, but at least it is doable. It seems to be a lot more luck-based than the other ones. This time I got a +2 weapon in the next room and a +3 plate armor a couple of rooms over. This is a lot more useful than the typical assorted seeds and potions I was getting on the previous runs.

There's always +3 armor and weapons, you just have to find them. It shouldn't matter which room they're in because you can navigate the entire vault without fighting anything if you play it stealthily enough.

Sure, it's random, but the vault is also generated using a bunch of rules to make progression always possible. After playing it several times, I'd say its about as about as random as the troll blacksmith quests. You don't know exactly where the things you need are (items vs ore), but it feels pretty much the same every time.
