It's wild how many people seem to think that winning a revolution would somehow be easier than winning an election.
This is what I'm saying!! People keep being like "we can't possibly solve things through voting! That would involve massive organizing, getting everyone on the same page, making compromises and settling for less than perfection, and it would be subject to the influence of mega-wealthy donors and an opposition-controlled media environment! We just have to have a revolution so we don't have to deal with any of those things!"
And it's like. I'd be less annoyed about what are obviously people who are hurt and frustrated lashing out if they didn't act like I was a fucking fascist for saying "I don't think massive amounts of death and violence will help this situation, actually"
One way of approaching this is having a model that's replicable more so than scalable.
Another is that as soon as you cut off the power source that sustains all the stuff you're struggling against, the struggle becomes a lot easier. For instance, sometimes you just need to fire all the legal staff that would be likely to defend landlords, publicize that they won't be protected as a class, and let the "free market of human interaction" take it from there.
These two go together. Give up on the idea that you'll change everyone's opinion, just build the power for yourself and your comrades to live as you please, and then strike fast and conclusively against the heart of the oppressive apparatus. Revolution doesn't need to be much more elaborate than that.
Agreed. Frankly people adjust to things really quickly, things that they swear they would die to prevent. But already, today, they routinely read about bullshit that they don’t like, and they don’t lift a finger. Turns out that abstractions are not that motivating. But one or two missed meals is all it takes to motivate someone to act.

Also, you don't need to become a reflection of the thing you are fighting. You just need to understand how it is composed, and erode or detach that composition.
An "opposition-controlled media environment" is easy to imagine answers around but takes a lot of effort in practice. "Mega-wealthy donors" is a problem with an even simpler and much easier fix which is
