Then point to immigration, we try to get as many pro-US/right wing people as possible because our native population doesn't accept what the government wants. As an example in the lead up to the war in Iran, we let in something like 90% of refugee claims from that club.

Now we actually have people celebrating the US bombing civilians and the media focuses on that instead of the people who want Canada to fight against the US.

Some caveats; there aren't any countries left of Canada that people would want to leave to come here. So there's an inherent bias for immigrants to get more right wing than Canada. Poverty also impacts political beliefs, and rich people aren't incentivized to leave situations that made them rich. Immigration as a scapegoat, the problem is how we select them not the people themselves so the blame is on the government. They could just as easily approve asylum claims for gay/trans/coloured people from the US, we saw the educated exodus of the US get met with 50 year wait times.
