For people who already tried both, what's the reason you're sticking with GNOME or KDE as your desktop environment?

Tuning / ricing is overrated. I used to spend ~~hours~~ years ricing my desktop (enlightenment DR16 anyone?). Screw that, Gnome it is: simple, elegant, functional.

I do add 2 very useful plugins tho: Wobbly Windows and the Spinning Cube. Shows my age I guess.

Really wish we would drop "ricing" from the vernacular.

My bad (seriously). What's the slang now to "spend ~~hours~~ years fiddling with a zillion parameters so my desktop is exactly like I want it for the next 5 minutes"?

It's not a you problem, it's just a bit of casual racism that slipped through the cracks; insidious because most people don't even realize it's a problem.

We called it theming before that other term got popular, I never saw a reason to stop.

Most people have. The specific bike/car subculture isn't really a thing any more so the term is gone too. It's only still hanging on in older gentoo users.

Oops, probably shows (again) my age. Is because "ricing" was ethnic something ?
