AOC or bust in 2028, I guess

[–] inlandempire@jlai.lu 14 points 2 days ago (3 children)

according to this poll aoc is the weakest opponent to republicans

This poll suggests Harris is a viable candidate.

[–] brownsugga@lemmy.world 24 points 2 days ago (3 children)

Every Dem "candidate" on that list EXCEPT for AOC is basically a neoliberal, same as electing a republican

[–] atro_city@fedia.io 11 points 2 days ago (2 children)

100%. If AOC doesn't win, it'll just be an establishment or billionaire vote. Nothing will change

[–] huppakee@lemmy.world 11 points 2 days ago (2 children)

I want AOC to win, i really do, but I am all out of optimism by now.

[–] atro_city@fedia.io 7 points 2 days ago

The Epstein class does a good job of sucking up wealth and hope.

[–] andyburke@fedia.io 5 points 2 days ago (1 children)

All they had to do was show you a picture and you're cooked?

Politics today....

[–] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Nah. All I had to do was live in America for over 40 years to know AOC is probably cooked.

[–] mindbleach@sh.itjust.works -2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Because there's nothing going on outside of establishment norms and economics - right?

[–] atro_city@fedia.io 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

lmao, wat? which kinda of people won the last presidential elections for the last decade and a half?

The lesser-evil isn't working.

[–] atro_city@fedia.io 0 points 2 days ago (1 children)

You forgot the establishment candidate, but thank you. Now, explain to me again how anybody on that image besides AOC isn't going to be "settling", establishment or fascist.

'Why would I settle for boring liberalism when the alternative is concentration camps?,' asks time vampire certain they'll never be the next 'and then they came for.'

Buddy, I don't know what you're taking, if English is your second language or if you're an AI bot, because what you're saying makes no sense at all in relation to what I posted.

Maybe improve your reading comprehension first or change your underlying model, because you write like you're having a stroke.

[–] mindbleach@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 day ago

You don't understand one simple sentence and the problem is my reading comprehension.

I shouldn't be surprised, when you don't understand the secret police are grabbing people off court steps and sending them to secret prisons and then random foreign countries, but you still think whining about "the establishment" would excuse a protest vote or nonparticipation.

same as electing a republican

This is factually not true.

The AFL-CIO labor union has a scorecard to track politicians. Kamala Harris or Jon Ossoff voted every single bill improving labor rights or taxing the rich

https://aflcio.org/scorecard/legislators/kamala-harris

https://aflcio.org/scorecard/legislators/jon-ossoff

[–] brownsugga@lemmy.world -2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I wasn't attempting to state a fact

[–] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Then why the fuck did your sentence structure make it sound like you were stating a fact? You literally said

same as electing a Republican

That kind of dumb shit gets other dumb people to think Dems and Republicans are actually the same, which is demonstrably false here in reality.

[–] brownsugga@lemmy.world -1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I'm just a dude on the internet, you shouldn't take anything I say as fact

[–] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Then keep your opinions to yourself or make it clear your sentence staged as a fact is actually an opinion. Stupid people are easily influenced.

[–] brownsugga@lemmy.world 1 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

Looks like I influenced you plenty

[–] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 1 points 18 hours ago

Influenced? Hardly. Idiots just make me mad. That's not influence.

[–] DarkFuture@lemmy.world -2 points 1 day ago

Yeah, the super intelligent gay dude who talks about bolstering social programs, helping others, and oozes common sense every time he opens his mouth is the same as a Republican.

Lot of delusion on the internet these days.

Y'all better get over this AOC thing. It's amost assuredly not gonna happen.

[–] professor_prime@lemmychan.org 5 points 2 days ago

That's the problem.

Democrats are stupid, greedy, and above all: entitled.

[–] tlekiteki@lemmy.dbzer0.com 7 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Poll aside, I guess that she would put Marco Rubioz token Latino appeal into an ugly contest. JD Vance, however, could inspire passion from the incel voting block.

[–] atro_city@fedia.io 2 points 2 days ago

Strong voting block.
