I only know of the limit on how many curators you can ignore, which is also capped at 100, and I've been at that limit for a very long time.
I think over time Steam has pushed curators less and less, so now I rarely see this basically useless feature. Or maybe Augmented Steam has an option to block/hide them in general, and I just don't remember.
For some reason Steam Hardware is set as a curator, which I followed after the announcement of the Controller, Frame and Machine. Since I don't use this anyway, I just unfollowed, and now the list is empty again.
In the past, I've hit a block limit in an online game I played for a long time. Pretty stupid when you can't block toxic people anymore. Removing very old blocks was possible, but not very convenient. It also kinda defeats the purpose of blocking.
Overwatch (1, the real first game) let you block only up to 5 or 7 people or so. Not only that, the block lasted only 1 week or so and will be lifted automatically. The idea is, that you block only in very specific cases where you don't like the person or they don't like you for whatever reason, but still follow the rules. And sometimes people change after they had a bad day and should get a second chance (I noticed that with other players and its true). Because if the person is constantly toxic or does not follow any other rules, the person should be removed from match making and be reported instead just blocking. This helps everyone, not just you. And it makes match making search and find better matches, because there are less blocked people.
That was in Overwatch 1 back then, no idea how its handled now.
Overwatch had "avoid as teammate" as well as blocking. Are you sure you're thinking of blocking and not avoiding?
Avoid had a low limit. I don't remember such a thing for blocking.
You are right. I think blocking had a limit, but I don't remember details anymore. Edit: The Avoid as Team Member-functionality was added later, presumably because lot of players asked to have a bigger block list. I remember vaguely about such discussions back then.
