Now's the time to simply match the tariffs dollar for dollar and refuse to respond to anything but a concession by the US. If they keep playing dumb games like changing the agreement last minute they were never interested in a deal. Maybe Carney can be more specific now on what is affected and who specifically is targeted. it'd be great if there was a list of business' affected and their products so we could buy more domestically. the list of tariffs sounded weirdly targeted at certain business' to me.
Check out the CBC article - they break down the main categories and provinces. Interesting to see which provinces are hardest hit (Quebec and BC), and which have less than 1% impact (Alberta and Saskatchewan).
Even better, because Canadians probably understand his tariffs work, or at least can be taught how they work, just say you're imposing "reciprocal tariffs" then don't.
It'll pickle the orange pea brain's mind.
