From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).

Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

And of course I'm installing Linux on it. Install went well, even the fingerprint sensor built in to the laptop works.

Mostly this will be a school and DND machine but always nice to have a functional laptop for whatever else I may need it for.

You know exactly what. Feigning dismay at the down votes emphasizes the fact. But in case you're truly unable to read the room - don't be that Linux guy that drives people away from the community by being a pompous dildo. It's unbecoming, highlights your fedora, and is the reason you don't have any friends, Kevin.

What on earth are you talking about? 😆 You have no idea who I am or how many friends I have lmao. I have more than I have time to keep up with, sadly. It's hard with two small kids and a family.

Anyway, I really was just asking a question. What the fuck did I say that people take offense to? Please read the room aloud for me, if you could? Without being a rude prick?

Edit: I went through your comment history a bit, because name calling is usually a huge red flag for me, indicating that someone has a social problem and isn't worth my time. Seems like you really like name calling, and you like to call people out loudly when they don't understand something that you do. You pride yourself on your intellect, I imagine. And it makes you feel good when you put people down that don't have an intellect that measures up to your own, especially if yours gets challenged, even a little bit, by someone else. Instant defensive mode.

I think I might cancel my request for you to tell me what was wrong with what I said. I'll ask someone else that comes along. Thanks for dropping by, though.

(Also seems like you're more of a Linux nerd than I am, so joke's on you. 😅 Peace. ✌️)

Bruh, you have no case. Go away, troll.

You've taken some light ribbing much more seriously than you should. To the point where you expose personal details about yourself, real or not, to strangers on the internet to emotionally charge your rebuttal. The digging into someone elses comment history is traditionally cringe neckbeard behavior, but you do you boo boo. I already told you what you did wrong. I'm not trolling. Don't be a dweeb.

Your initial comment to OP came off mouthbreathingly arrogant. I said what I said. Sorry if it hurt your feelings more than it should.

light ribbing

You call this light ribbing? 😂

You aren't sorry. Get the fuck out of here.

I don't think having kids or a family is "exposing" myself lol.

You talk about me being arrogant but you have some of the most obnoxious behavior I've seen on Lemmy thus far. You keep doing more name calling as well. What are you, 8?

Maybe look in the mirror, son. Grow up. 🖕
