Downloaded an album online in mp3 , wondering if higher quality can be got from buying and ripping the expensive used CD online (lemmy.world)

Is it better to buy the CD and rip or or is that about as good as it gon' get? Should I quit while I'm ahead

Its literally nowhere else online in a hq format besides YouTube (lq) and various random blogs/sites

No FLACs :( until I change that

Almost certainly no. You aren't getting meaningful loss of information above 192kbit mp3 compression. V0 is even better. A used CD might have scratches too.
