Oh I'm sorry is that quote supposed to make slavery seem ok?

Guys it's not a big deal because the Bible had rules about buying and selling humans for labor and profit.

20 “Anyone who beats their male or female slave with a rod must be punished if the slave dies as a direct result, 21 but they are not to be punished if the slave recovers after a day or two, since the slave is their property.

I bet I know more about it than you do. The thing is, I'm also familiar with (like actual, real) history so I'm aware of what slavery actually was like in those times. Not through the mouth of a lying, destructive, bigoted book. But you have no interest in that do you?

As for your male and female slaves whom you may have: you may buy male and female slaves from among the nations that are around you. 45 You may also buy from among the strangers who sojourn with you and their clans that are with you, who have been born in your land, and they may be your property. 46 You may bequeath them to your sons after you to inherit as a possession forever. You may make slaves of them, but over your brothers the people of Israel you shall not rule, one over another ruthlessly.

Leviticus 25:44-55

You can disagree with me as strongly as you want, and I'm still happy to discuss all day long. But, the impression I'm getting from your hostility is that you don't want to have a discussion—you do not want to earn my respect and change my mind, you just want to be right. Am I correct in that or am I misinterpreting you? I mean that genuinely, no sarcasm or aggression. I did already read all that you've referenced, I've done some further research, and I have more thoughts that I'd love to share, but only if you're interested.

Also for what it's worth, I'll be praying for you friend regardless of how our interaction here goes. 🙂
