Maybe a hot take but so far I'm a bit disappointed with the portrayal of Doom. It does fit his usual MO, yes, but it doesn't really feel like Time Runs Out? My favourite portrayals of Doom are where he's genuinely doing good things but doing so with horrible methods that lead to his downfall alongside his pride. Doom isn't even really a villain in Time Runs Out and he's definitely an antagonist in Secret Wars (2015) but I'd also hesitate to call him a villain. Granted, obviously, he's not good, but he shouldn't just be evil.

I think it's a little bit of a misdirect, because we don't actually know what exactly Doom is up to.

For Thanos we knew going into the film that he was collecting the Infinity Stones, but we didn't know why.

We know going into Doomsday that Incursions are happening, but we don't know why. Is Doom causing them? Is Doom choosing to save one universe over another? The marketing is conspicuously missing other characters like Doctor Strange, is he on Doom's side?

While Doomsday/Secret Wars are going to be a similar one-two punch that we had for Infinity War/Endgame, we can't (or probably shouldn't) do the same story. Thanos was the big bad who destroyed half of the universe. Doom could just be the big bad who destroys multiple universes...but he is probably up to something else... But for the something else to work as a setup, you market Doom as something more simple.

I hope so. I just don't know how they'll pull it off, and also the Thor-Doom fight feels weird to me. It feels like it belongs a lot more in Secret Wars than a Time Runs Out aka Doomsday imo?

Then again I think no matter what it will be extremely hard for it to match up to Hickman's run, so I just hope it's a good story in and of itself. Though we oughta have at least one "Everything dies".

Also doubt the Cabal or the Illuminati will exist in this adaptation but I am so curious what they're gonna do with Namor.

Granted, I know he's properly evil in the original Secret Wars, but this feels a lot more like Hickman's with the incursions and everything.
