Costco is publicly traded, anybody can buy their stock. Blackrock owning it should be irrelevant to public opinion of the company.

Well, except that I'm theory, owning a lot of shares in a company gives you some leverage over that company to drive its policies and direction.

It's also probably mostly BlackRock index funds. Which means tons of retail investors are part of this ownership.
