Any day now some people might realize that the governments job is not to better their lives but to stabilize capitalism. Right before elections, every promise is fair game, afterwards any government is gonna do what 'it has to do'. Criticizing single terms gets really boring the older you become. Government can only hope that the people stay as short sighted as the average CEO shooting for those quarterly numbers.
