If it isnt dangerous id rather keep the lamp. I can handle a 1 second delay on switching off and the lamp has sentimental value

If the bulb fix doesn't work and you want to take it apart and show me a pic of the switch I can probably tell you if it can be repaired or replaced with a new switch. I get the sentimental value thing I got my mom's tiffany pole lamp and if it went bad I would repair it.
