What all would you count as a loading screen, anyway? Would a quick fade out and in count? What about the doors in Resident Evil? The short transitions between areas in MGS1? The teleporters in Soul Reaver with the animation of activating the portal?

I feel like these are all loading screens, they're just not as jarring as, say, a Bethesda RPG's full screen images and progress bar.

Just saying that Soul Reaver didn't have "super obvious" loading screens.
