Not really 14 and 9 and i don't see any evidence she felt anything romantic for anakin in episode one and by episode 2 they were both adults and hadn't interacted since then and I don't think 5 years is too crazy of an age gap.

Anakin was 19 and Padme 24 I don't think that's too extreme.
