as the kids just take them out as soon as the teacher turns their back

When I was in school the teacher's were sizing the phone if they caught you with it in class and sometimes require your parents to pick them up

Yup same. Then a few phones went missing, parents threatened to sue because cell phones were insanely expensive back then, and the school told teachers they couldn't do that anymore. 🤷‍♀️
