That's what I was wondering because I thought rice is necessarily water intensive, so enough to maintain even a small population (assuming water requirements are true) in space has me boggled. I can't wait to learn more!

like growing any plants in space is already impressive, but rice? that is absolutely astounding to me
Same, and rice definitely makes sense if you have access to a local source of water which we know is possible on the moon. Next decade will be exciting.
