A place to discuss positive changes that can make work more equitable, and to vent about current practices. We are NOT against work; we just want the fruits of our labor to be recognized better.
Our Philosophies:
- All workers must be paid a living wage for their labor.
- Income inequality is the main cause of lower living standards.
- Workers must join together and fight back for what is rightfully theirs.
- We must not be divided and conquered. Workers gain the most when they focus on unifying issues.
Our Goals
- Higher wages for underpaid workers.
- Better worker representation, including but not limited to unions.
- Better and fewer working hours.
- Stimulating a massive wave of worker organizing in the United States and beyond.
- Organizing and supporting political causes and campaigns that put workers first.

Crying about "free labour" seems pretty silly in this case. You're already going around the store picking your own shit, usually bagging it yourself, bringing it home yourself etc.
Most people can do a pickup order now anyway. So of you truly want the most value for the least labor, you should only do pickup orders
Or just get it delivered and save even that "free labour". I'm just gonna shop normally but use the self-checkout because it's much much quicker
yeah but checkout supposedly requires responsibility (you're handling money after all) while carrying bags ... less so?
Yep. We already had this discourse a little over a generation ago. It used to be you would roll up to a grocery store, hand your shopping list to the clerk, and then wait while they went and grabbed everything for you. Modern grocery stores where you go around and pick out your own items were rejected by consumers at first because they were perceived to have poorer customer service; but ultimately, it was faster and cheaper, so it became the new normal.
