...Everyone in the left lane is turning left.
... or they drive with these trucks on the road every day and realise that the fully loaded truck on the right is going to be slow AF from a standing start, while the one on the left will be much less slow because it's only loaded with it's own trailer. After 50m or so you'll be able to switch to the right lane and escape both trucks.
You can literally see the turn arrow on the traffic light and the guide lines in the intersection. Those cars are stacked up in the leftmost turn lane.
Here's a slightly less cooked rendition obtained by a simple reverse image search:
The leftmost lane is clearly a left turn only lane. The lane the log truck is in most likely is a left/straight lane, or it's double left turn lanes. Nobody in that leftmost lane is going straight around that log truck unless they want to get turned into a pancake.
Sure but none of that explains why cars are in the left most lane, because both lanes can turn left.
The obvious explanation remains - no one wants to be stuck behind a fully laden truck at traffic lights.
After the turn, cars in the left lane will be able to move in to the right lane.
This seems really obvious to me. Does no one else drive?
Why do you think they're turning left?
Being in a left turn only lane with left turn green arrow on the traffic signal above it is a rather strong clue.
oh so now we're playing blue's clues
