As someone who's crypto-neutral, I don't want to be too negative...

But this article talks about Bluesky and Mastodon, but Bluesky is not decentralized and neither application uses any web3 technology.

Is there any actual web3 social media? It doesn't seem like the best use of web3 (versus stuff like financial automation, etc.)

Parts of Bluesky are decentralizing. For example my account's PDS is not with Bluesky.

You are correct that Bluesky and Mastodon (et. al) don't really run on Web3 at all.
