Or the marketing people have research that says the tune matters more than the actual content of the song.

Hell, they've been using "Born in the USA" as a song about Patriotism for decades. For people to make the connection they'd have to think about it critically, which is already more advanced than most advertising is meant to be experienced.

Or, they know they are pandering to the Lowest Common Denominator of human intelligence/awareness and that the minority that understands that song already know enough not to fall for it anyway.
