What the parent comment is saying is true. I'm diagnosed and medicated for ADHD but struggled with a bad amphetamine addiction in my late teens. I've been clean for nearly a decade now but we don't have some sort of superpower that frees us from from addiction, especially not from the physical aspects of it that OP specifically referred to. Do you think you wouldn't get a week of headaches when quitting a pot of coffee a day?
