This is Microsoft showing a little desperation to keep Europe from moving onto fully European cloud solutions, by integrating European solutions into it.

I think firms can still, for now, use Mistral independent of Microsoft, but this does put into question if Microsoft may further reduce Mistral's independence or buy it out eventually once the attention is off them.

Government bodies in EU should keep pursuing tech stacks independent of Apple, Google and Microsoft and not let this lead them astray.
