I was at first, this is BS and now I'm like this is a lot of work but doable...

Now to get the kids to dispose of them in an easy way to collect them...

Place a bin out front of your house marked "vape recycling box?"

[–] TIEPilot@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Building on that idea (thank you!)

There are a couple vape shops near buy. I wonder if they would let me put them up there? More foot traffic of the right people I'm looking for.

Give them $5 to put the box just outside the store, and tell them there's another $5 for them if they call when it's full.

Putting it inside could be a bit of a fire hazard, so I bet they'd be more receptive to it being outside

That was my thought (outside deposit), as a shade tree welder I was thinking of building the box in a way that would contain a thermal runaway or a bad actor setting it alight

I didnt think about incentivizing the placement/collection process. I will definitely use that model, thanks!

If it's gonna be heavy AF anyway, might as well add some sand to the bottom. To protect the concrete in case of a runaway.

Good luck!

Yeah they are going to be heavy, it will help with them no being stolen/kicked over.

I like the sand idea, great for fire and would had more ballast to make them hard to move/vandalize. Plus keep it in bags to make it easier to move later on. Thanks!
