Instead, some European countries - namely Italy and Poland - are steadily moving in the direction of the US, in terms of working conditions and workers' rights.
Shifts longer than 8 hours, only 'temporary' contracts with no employee benefits or protections (because you're not an 'employee'). But the companies still demand you fulfill all or most requirements of a regular employment contract.
Illegal? As hell. Who cares? Nobody.
Funding for government institutions overseeing labour is constantly cut. Same excuse as DOGE. Cutting waste while also giving mega corporations tax breaks and not fining them when they are very evidently breaking the law.
