Beehaw's community for socialists, communists, anarchists, and non-authoritarian leftists (this means anti-capitalists) of all stripes. A place for all leftist and labor news and discussion, as long as you're nice about it.
Non-socialists are welcome to come to learn, though it's hard to get to in-depth discussions if the community is constantly fighting over the basics. We ask that non-socialists please be respectful and try not to turn this into a "left vs right" debate forum by asking leading questions or by trying to draw others into a fight.

Well, to be blunt you're not a contributor at all. Your only posts here are complaining in this thread about the content.
This is funny. Current Affairs is a Libertarian Socialist magazine that posts articles written by authors who are various flavors of the anti-capitalist left written from their relevant perspective on a wide variety of issues. Socialist critique of elected officials is absolutely relevant to a socialist community, as is a socialist view on sex ed and nudity; I really don't know what to say to someone who doesn't understand that.
They are posted at times and in a format that are convenient for me, because that's how individuals submitting content works. I just happen to like to post in a batch. 🤷
It's not really an argument. It's mostly me informing you upfront that your complaint is not going to result in the change you want to see, so you should either get over it, or unsub from/block the beehive if you are not interested in seeing that; it would be a much better use of your time than whatever this is.
You're right, I tend to lurk and up vote when I feel it's appropriate. I'll try to do better at making my voice heard if you want to have more contributions and build an actual community.
I'm sorry that your posts in particular seem to irk me to the point at which I felt I had to speak up. I'll tailor my browsing so that they won't show up, but I'm not giving up on having the main anti-capitalist community on beehaw as part of my browsing.
When those topics actually engender discussions pertaining to socialism, sure. But based on the discussion under the article about sex ed, it's mostly just more of the same discussion I would find anywhere else on beehaw — I would think you would want a community slightly more focused. I can't speak to the discussion re: "Politician bad" because there wasn't one.
I actually did notice that you posted a comment in another thread here and it was relevant and on topic. It was a nice comment and I hope to see more of that going forward and less of this type of comment thread, please.
I don't have a problem with that. Beehaw was selected as a migration point for our subreddit because of its ethos and the fact that its rules would attract a larger than average leftist population. I would expect the type of viewpoints that you would typically find in a socialist community to be fairly prevalent on such a site. Making the beehive too focused would make it annoying to find content, so I don't mind having a wider net. Another thing to keep in mind is that a lot of the people subscribed here may not necessarily be subscribed to a lot of other Beehaw communities, as we are on a federated platform, so those types of comments may not be as common for them as it is for us.
