I used to think people were generally good, and bad things happening was the exception.
Not anymore, everyone is capable of bad things, but especially the sociopaths in charge who don't care about anything bit themselves.
I should have learned that lesson in high school when slavery was taught. We haven't evolved from that. We just got better at hiding it in prisons.
And we're those sociopaths in charge ALWAYS sociopaths? Is that why they were drawn to the position to begin with? Or did they start off well-intentioned? Could YOU turn into someone like that if you were elected to a similar position?
Love these questions
There's a ton of research that people drawn to these positions score high on dark triad personality traits. It's definitely them being sociopaths with anti-personality disorder.
Obviously circumstances can turn someone into a psychopath, but that's not what's happening here with people who have a ton of money. They just lack empathy, which is something people tend to have less of the more money they have.
