The base on that tree is too small to support it when leapt on by a full-grown cat. Which is what cat trees are for. It's not Astrid's fault she's no longer a kitten.
Yep. If it's in good condition, since it seems to be in a corner, I would take a couple of those fabric strap things to each wall to stabilize it.
