Soulslike - Discussion, News, Memes

This is a community for discussion, news, and memes pertaining to the video game sub-genre "soulslike".

Given Lemmy's size, the definition of soulslike may be treated relatively loosely. While games like the numerous FromSoft titles, the recent Star Wars Jedi games, Lies of P, Nioh and similar games should be the focus, games that incorporate soulslike elements - like Hollow Knight and Blasphemous, for example - may also be discussed here.

Basic Lemmy-quette applies. Additionally, since flairs don't exist yet, please do make sure to include a marker to denote what game your post is about in square brackets for clarity's sake. An example could be:

[BB] This enemy is so difficult!

or

[DS1] Anyone struggling with the gargoyles?

Between Asylum Demon, Tower Demon, Witches of Hemwick and Genichiro, he probably takes the cake for me.

At first, he's a huge wall and pretty much impossible to beat for new players. Once you get the hang of the combat, it just clicks (literal shills running down my spine) and you end up appreciating the fight a lot.

What's your pick?

My two favorites are Mohg from ER and pontiff sulyvahn from DS3, but havent played other souls yet.

I assume you like the real Mohg, Lord of Blood fight (the phase 2 goes crazy). But do you also enjoy the Mohg, the Omen fight (the one underneath the sewers)? It's more of an extended phase 1 of the real deal, but I still quite enjoy it.

Of course, i was refering to lord of blood. It felt like if the entire game was just meant to prepare me to fail that fight. I really had to learn how to dance to his liking. Mohg's second phase is so chaotic and you have so little time to take decisions that i really dont know how i beat him in the first place.

It was really hard but beating him was so rewarding that it made me understand what a good boss is soppose to be.

It's a strange thing to say, but Mohg was plain hard and i wouldn't call that fight unfair in anyway. I wish there were more bosses like him.

And, of course... the music.
